While images are the lifeblood of every artist, image management can be overwhelming. It is a common practice and strong recommendation for artists to store a high resolution copy of their artwork to serve as a master file. In order to maximize it's usage, the master image file is often saved as a .tiff file or perhaps a .psd (native Photoshop file). The file size of these image formats can be quite large and far exceed the limits to share via email/text or upload to social media. It is also common for artists to save a .jpg file from their master file to upload to their website. Many artists are highly skilled at managing, creating and editing their images, however, it can be time consuming, require specialty software that is expensive and can come with a large learning curve.
Wouldn't it be great, if you had the option to simply download a copy of an image from your website, that you could easy send as an appropriately sized email attachment without the fear and wondering if the recipient will have a program capable of opening and viewing the attachment?
In the image handling department, from the beginning uploads, FASO has been a leader in the creation and storage of multiple web-appropriate sized images to utilize in our websites. Keeping this in mind we have added functionality in the FASO artwork portfolio, to download a copy of your image to your computer or device. The dropdown menu option gives you the ability to choose from every size the platform created when you originally uploaded the image. It even gives you the option to download the original file you uploaded.
To access the download option, log into your control panel, click Artwork, locate the record of the artwork you wish to download, click the thumbnail or edit link in the list view of your portfolio, to access the artwork details. Locate and click the Download this Image link.
After clicking the link it will take you to a download page where you will have a dropdown menu to select from all the image size options created when you uploaded your image.
Once you have made your selection simply click the download button and the image you selected will be downloaded to your Downloads folder.
