Features and improvements we've recently shipped.
We've added a screen for you to track whether or not your FASO art store is receiving Paypal IPN Notifications. (Instant Payment Notifications).
To see the IPNs that your FASO Store has received:
Login to your FASO Account
Click "Commerce"
Click "Sales & Customers"
Click "Paypal IPN Notifications"
This screen can be helpful in knowing if you've configured IPN Correctly and if you have received a specific IPN Notification.
The new screen is pictured below:
Our full screen composer for rich text areas now supports auto-saving and the ability to recover previous versions.
Here are some screenshot that show how that works:
We've improved the abandoned checkout screen.
It now shows an image of the artwork, to make distinguishing what was in the cart easier. We've also added a column to report the sales channel that the sale came from which might be "website", "boldbrush contest" or "boldbrush art alerts" (artful alerts).
Here's what the new abandoned checkout screen looks like (found in the commerce section):
We now support unlisted pages. Unlisted means, that if a page on your website is unlisted, there are no links to that page automatically created by the FASO system. For all practical purposes they are hidden pages. While they are unlisted, keep in mind they are not password protected. These can be useful for special information and resources for special customers or for a delivery URL of a digital product or any other use that requires a page but is not something you want site visitors to be abled to find on their own.
When you add/edit a page, simply choose "Unlisted" for the "Visibility" field:
If you're previously uploaded a video to your FASO website and have an improved version of it. You may now upload the new version to replace the original version. Please be sure prior to doing this that you are sure you wish to replace the video as we don't provide an ability to "revert" to the old version should you change your mind.
This doesn't apply to Youtube Videos, only those uploaded directly to FASO. But Youtube doesn't allow video replacements anyway.
You can now purchase art supplies right from inside your FASO account! Through an agreement with Blick Art Supplies we've made their entire store available right from your FASO account. If you purchase your supplies from inside your FASO account that supports us and allows us to continue to develop new and better features to offer you. Just click the "Supplies" button in the toolbar.

We've added a new room to the "View in Room" feature. A large gallery wall.
This room can be used for a very clean presentation. In addition, this room is now the default for works that are larger than 60" in either dimension.
Here's what this looks like:
New Feature - Custom Tax Rates
Custom tax rates allow you to specify the rates you want to charge for sales tax in countries & regions you are required to collect and remit sales tax in. We cannot advise you which countries and regions those are. For USA based artists, generally, you must collect and remit sales tax in the state where you live. In some cases in other states as well, please discuss the matter with a tax professional.
If you enable custom tax rates, they will take precedence over any other methods you are using to collect taxes (such as setting up your tax rates in paypal) and the tax will be shown in the shopping cart as the user checks out.
To access custom tax rates, please visit the commerce page and click on "custom tax rates"
You will see the custom tax rates screen, by default they are not active:
After you add any tax rates regions you want to collect tax in, click "Change Setting"
You must enabled both check boxes to use custom tax rates. The first check box enables the custom tax rates, and the 2nd checkbox tells the shopping cart to start collecting the customer's shipping address at the time of checkout (instead of waiting and letting paypal handle collecting the shipping info). Both pieces of information are needed to calculate if the tax rate needs to be charged:
After saving, you will see that the custom tax rates are active:

BoldBrush Artful Alerts (AKA "New Art Alerts") now include a "Purchase Now" link, if possible.
If you have enabled commerce on your site, and provided a price for the artwork, the Artful Alert will include a direct purchase link in addition to the normal "Like" button.
In addition, if someone purchases a painting due to prompting from a BoldBrush Artful Alert, that will show up as the "Sales Channel" on your notification of sale:
